Dr. Stephanie Patterson of Pet Alternative Wellness Solutions, Virginia Beach, Va.,uses a K-laser to stimulate an acupuncture point on a llama at the Zoo March 19. At 15, Apollo is an older llama and the Zoo is working with Patterson to treat him with acupuncture and laser stimulation to help relieve arthritis and stimulate his appetite. Llamas are South American members of the camel family.
